Cath Brinkley
Cath is the lead counsellor and owner of Mountain Talk. Coming from a military family (go Army), Cath saw firsthand the challenges faced by returned veterans, primarily soldiers. This sparked a lifelong interest in veterans’ welfare. Her path to becoming a counsellor specialising in PTSD and anxiety wandered through a career in academia, volunteer firefighting, emergency management, the public service, event management, and publishing.
Eventually, life found a way, and she was finally able to study a Masters in Counselling, starting in 2019, and that has meant that Cath is now able to fulfill her dream and follow her passion to work with anyone suffering with anxiety or after trauma. Cath has a special interest in veterans, emergency services personnel, and corrections staff facing challenges as a result of their service, but sees and works with clients across a wide range of ages and from all walks of life.
Cath is a busy mum of four active, challenging, spectacular, and adored children (now teenagers) and is a self-confessed coffee addict (milk and one). She is partial to cheese, chocolate, and cooking, and hasn’t met a craft she doesn’t like. Cath admits to being more of a cat person than a dog person and a city kid more than a country kid. She is also most definitely not a morning person!
